OI Manawa The Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial was opened to the public at the sixth anniversary commemoration event on 22 February 2017.

The most sensitive project that Ōtākaro, the forerunner to Rau Paenga managed was the Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial. The company liaised with a wide range of stakeholder, including bereaved representatives, to oversee the design and construction of this memorial, which is a special place for those who lost loved ones and other locals who were impacted by the catastrophic earthquakes.
